What are the bio microneedles and how does it work?

Bio microneedles are also known as Spongilla Spicules, which are derived from freshwater sponges. These sponges undergo a 60-hour infrared drying process. which is then followed by a meticulous extraction and polishing process, transforming them into a fine powder.

While seen as powder to the naked eye, under a microscope they stimulate the look of a sharp barbed like structure. Their dimensions and physical attributes make them ideal for micro-needling, offering a natural method of stimulating collagen production and enhancing skin regeneration, effectively mimicking some traditional micro-needling benefits without invasive procedures.

Role in Treatment

What happens to the skin once SQT is applied?

Spicule Implantation

During application of the SQT product, three to five million siliceous microneedles are pushed into the epidermis and stimulate the skin for up to 72 hours before they naturally fall out.

Basal Cell Activation

Basal cells are found at the bottom of the epidermis – the outermost layer of the skin. Basal cells produce new skin cells. As new skin cells are produces, they push the older cells towards the skin’s surface, where the old cells die and are sloughed off. This is the science behind SQT.

Collagen Reproduction

The implantation of spicules creates a wound healing cascade in the skin, the wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels, effectively remodeling the skin.

Epidermal healing, or reepithelialization, is the renewal of the epidermis that has been damaged by a wound (SQT spicule implantation in this case).
