Face and Body in One Clinic
No need to bounce between providers, we treat facial laxity and body firmness under the same roof, often in the same visit.
RF Treatment for Face
RF is one of the most requested non-surgical options for firmer, smoother facial skin, without the downtime of a surgical facelift. Because the energy heats the dermis rather than the surface, it works with your skin’s own repair process instead of cutting or injecting anything.
Radiofrequency for face lifting is best understood as a way to soften early jowls, tighten a loosening jawline, or lift a tired-looking mid-face, non-surgically. It won’t replicate a facelift on advanced sagging, but for mild to moderate laxity it’s one of the most accessible options: existing collagen fibres contract for an immediate, subtle lift, and a fuller lift develops over the following weeks as new collagen forms.
It’s also the gentler, more comfortable choice compared to deeper treatments, which makes it a popular starting point for people in their late 20s to 40s noticing the first signs of laxity and wanting to slow things down rather than reverse significant sagging.
RF Skin Tightening for Body
On the body, RF is most commonly used to firm skin that has lost elasticity after pregnancy, significant weight loss, or gradual ageing, areas where the skin hasn’t “bounced back” on its own. It’s also a popular add-on for clients doing a body contouring course, since RF addresses skin firmness while fat cavitation addresses localised fat.
Areas we treat on the body
- Abdomen (including post-pregnancy skin)
- Thighs (inner and outer)
- Upper arms
- Buttocks
- Flanks and love handles
- Appearance of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks
Body RF sessions typically run a little longer than facial sessions because the treatment area is larger, and results build gradually as your body lays down new collagen. It won’t remove fat or excess skin from major weight loss, but for clients whose main concern is that their skin feels less firm than it used to, it’s one of the more realistic non-surgical options available.
Benefits of RF Skin Tightening
- Boosts your own collagen and elastin
- Firmer, tighter-looking skin without surgery or downtime
- Softer fine lines and improved skin texture
- A smoother, more lifted look on the face, neck and jawline
- Tighter, more toned-looking skin on the abdomen, thighs and arms
- Reduced appearance of cellulite and uneven skin tone
- Gradual, natural-looking results, never an “overdone” look
- Comfortable, warm sensation with zero downtime
- Works on face and body, and pairs well with other treatments
Aftercare for RF Skin Tightening
Your skin may look mildly flushed and feel warm to the touch straight after treatment — this is a normal response to the heat and typically settles within a few hours to a couple of days.
- Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinol, vitamin A, glycolic and other exfoliating acids) and skip physical exfoliation for around 7 days
- Cleanse gently, moisturise with a soothing, fragrance-free product, and apply SPF daily, this also helps prevent rare, temporary changes in pigmentation
- Mild redness or a warm sensation is expected and usually settles quickly; if anything feels unusual or doesn’t ease off, get in touch with the clinic
Who Should Avoid RF Skin Tightening
RF uses controlled heat, so it isn’t suitable for everyone. You may not be a candidate for treatment if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted electronic device
- Have metal plates, pins, or implants in the treatment area
- Have an active skin infection, open wound, or breakout in the treatment area
- Have epilepsy or a history of seizures
- Have uncontrolled diabetes or a condition that affects skin sensation, such as neuropathy
- Have an autoimmune condition or connective tissue disorder
- Have active rosacea or an inflammatory skin flare-up in the treatment area
- Have a history of skin cancer in the treatment area
- Have recently had fillers, threads, or other cosmetic procedures in the same area
We’ll go through your full medical history at consultation to confirm RF is safe and appropriate for you.
01
Controlled Heat Delivery
Radiofrequency energy heats the dermis A handpiece delivers controlled heat beneath the skin's surface while protecting the top layer.
02
Collagen Contraction
Existing collagen contracts This creates the immediate, subtle tightening effect many clients notice straight after treatment.
03
Collagen Renewal
New collagen builds over time Your skin continues producing fresh collagen and elastin for weeks after each session, which is why results improve gradually rather than overnight.
04
LED Light Therapy Add-On
Enhance your treatment with LED light therapy. This gentle, non-invasive add-on works at a cellular level to support circulation, skin healing and renewal, making it a comfortable finishing step for calmer, healthier-looking skin.
The light colour is selected based on your skin concern:
● Red light to support collagen production for anti-ageing benefits
● Yellow light to help brighten the skin and reduce redness or rosacea
● Blue light to reduce inflammation, target acne-causing bacteria and calm breakouts
● Green light to combine the benefits of red and blue while also targeting hyperpigmentation

Get DirectionsRF (radiofrequency) skin tightening is a non-surgical treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping the skin appear firmer, smoother and more toned over a course of sessions.
No treatment claims permanence, and we won’t either. RF stimulates your own collagen production, and results commonly last around 1-2 years with good skincare and periodic maintenance sessions, but your skin continues to age naturally afterward. Think of it as a long-lasting improvement you maintain, not a one-off fix.
It depends on how much laxity you have. For mild to moderate facial laxity, fine lines and early sagging, RF is usually the most comfortable and accessible starting point. For more visible sagging around the jawline or neck, HIFU may deliver a stronger lifting effect. We’ll assess your skin in a consultation and recommend accordingly, sometimes the answer is both.
Most clients describe RF as feeling like a warm massage. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout the session, and there’s no needles, numbing cream or downtime involved.
Most treatment plans involve a course of sessions spaced one to two weeks apart, with some clients noticing initial tightening early on and fuller results developing over the following months as new collagen builds. Your practitioner will map out a realistic number based on your skin and goals during your consultation.
RF can help improve the appearance of cellulite by firming the skin around it, though results vary by individual and by how much of the appearance is related to skin laxity versus underlying fat structure. For stubborn fat contributing to the area’s appearance, combining RF with fat cavitation is often more effective than RF alone.
RF heats the upper and mid layers of the skin (the dermis) and is generally more comfortable, making it well suited to mild to moderate laxity and overall skin texture. HIFU reaches deeper, into the SMAS layer that’s also addressed in a surgical facelift, and tends to suit more visible sagging. Many clients combine the two for a fuller result.
Yes. This is a common pairing at The Bodyy Shape Aesthetic for clients who want to address both localised fat and the appearance of skin firmness in the same treatment plan, particularly after pregnancy or significant weight change.
RF is generally considered suitable across a broad range of skin types. That said, suitability always depends on an individual assessment, which is why we run a consultation before any treatment plan begins.
