What Is an Evolt 360 Body Scan?
If you have ever stepped off the bathroom scale feeling like the number lied to you, an Evolt 360 body scan is what tells you the truth. In about 60 seconds, this body composition scanner reads your body fat, muscle mass, water levels, and metabolic rate, then hands you a report that actually explains what changed and why.
At The Bodyy Shape Aesthetic in Tingalpa, we use the Evolt 360 alongside our body contouring treatments to give Brisbane clients from Capalaba, Wynnum, Manly, Carindale, Cannon Hill and right across the bayside a clear, evidence-based starting point and an honest way to track progress that doesn't hide behind vague marketing claims.
How it works
Quick check-in
We confirm your age, height and activity level and make sure the scan is right for you.
Step on, hold on.
Shoes and socks off, hold the handgrips, stand still. That's it.
Results in 60 seconds
A safe, painless electrical current reads your body composition and your report is ready before you've sat back down. We talk you through it in plain English on the spot.
Instant results
Your results appear immediately as a printed report and in the Evolt Active app, so you can see your current baseline and track your progress over time.
How accurate is the Evolt 360?
Genuinely accurate for tracking your progress, and worth being straight about. Evolt’s own testing shows 98 to 99 percent repeatability, meaning it gives you a highly consistent reading scan to scan when conditions are the same.
Independent testing against DEXA (the clinical X-ray gold standard) has found BIA scanners like the Evolt 360 read slightly less precisely than DEXA in absolute terms. In practice, that means it’s an excellent tool for seeing real trends in your fat and muscle over weeks and months, but not a substitute for a clinical scan if you need lab-exact numbers.
For body contouring and fitness tracking, which is what almost everyone booking a scan actually needs, it’s the right tool for the job.
One thing worth knowing before your first scan: hydration affects your reading more than almost anything else. We’ll walk you through simple prep so your results are ones you can actually trust and compare.
Who Is an Evolt 360 Scan For?
An Evolt 360 body scan may be useful if you:
- Are beginning a fitness, nutrition or weight-management program
- Are starting body contouring or non-invasive fat-reduction treatments
- Want a baseline before making lifestyle changes
- Want to track fat loss while preserving or building muscle
- Feel your bathroom scales do not reflect the changes you can see
- Want to monitor body-composition trends at regular intervals
- Prefer measurable progress rather than relying only on photos or clothing fit
You do not need to be receiving another treatment at our clinic to book a scan.
Who should not have an Evolt 360 scan?
For safety and accuracy, the Evolt 360 scan is not suitable if you:
- Are pregnant
- Have a pacemaker or any implanted electronic medical device
- Are under 18 years old (results are less reliable during growth and development)
- Have open wounds or infections on the hands or feet where the electrodes make contact
If you’re unsure whether any of these apply to you, let us know when you book and we’ll guide you through it.
Why we use the Evolt 360 at The Bodyy Shape Aesthetic
At The Bodyy Shape Aesthetic, we specialise in non-invasive body contouring and long-term body change. We’re not a gym reception handing you a printout and sending you on your way. The Evolt 360 body scan allows us to:
- Accurately measure changes in body fat and muscle, not just weight. So you know what’s actually happening, not what the scale implies.
- Track how your abdomen, thighs, arms and other areas are responding to treatment. Session by session, area by area, not a single vague overall impression.
- Tailor your treatment plan, lifestyle advice and maintenance sessions to your real data. Your plan is built around what your body is actually doing, not a generic template.
- Celebrate your progress even when the scale doesn’t move much. Instead of guessing, we can show you proof of what’s happening inside your body.
Based in Tingalpa, easy to reach from Capalaba, Wynnum, Manly, Carindale, Cannon Hill, Camp Hill, Wakerley and across Brisbane’s bayside and southside.
Why Have an Evolt 360 Scan?
Create a Reliable Starting Point
Your first scan records where you are now. Future scans under similar conditions can then show how your fat mass, muscle mass and other measurements are trending.
Track Progress the Scale Can Miss
Body weight may stay similar while fat decreases and muscle increases. An Evolt 360 scan can make that change easier to see and keep you motivated.
Make More Informed Decisions
Clear data can help you and the relevant professionals review whether your training, nutrition or body-contouring plan is supporting your goals. Your results should always be considered alongside your health history and professional advice.
Understand Your Body More Clearly
Your report brings several body-composition estimates together in one place, including visceral fat, muscle distribution, body water and estimated energy needs.
This gives you a clearer picture of how your body is changing beyond what the number on the scale can show.
How to Prepare for an Evolt 360 Scan
Body water, food, exercise and time of day can affect a BIA result. For the most consistent reading:
- Arrive well hydrated, without drinking an excessive amount immediately beforehand
- Avoid a large meal before your appointment; an empty stomach is preferable
- Avoid alcohol before the scan
- Avoid caffeine and pre-workout supplements beforehand where practical
- Do not complete intense exercise immediately before the scan
- Use the bathroom before your appointment
- Wear light, comfortable clothing
- Remove your shoes and socks for the scan
- Tell us about pregnancy, implanted electronic devices, medications or anything else that may affect suitability or interpretation
For follow-up scans, try to book at the same time of day and follow the same food, hydration and exercise routine as your first scan. Consistency is more useful than comparing readings taken under very different conditions.
Why Brisbane clients book their scan with us
We’re not a gym reception handing you a printout. We specialise in body contouring, so your scan results are read by a team that actually uses that data to shape your treatment plan, not just file it away.
- We track how your abdomen, thighs, arms and other treatment areas are responding session to session
- We adjust your treatment plan, at-home advice and maintenance schedule based on your real numbers
- We can show you proof of progress on the weeks your weight doesn’t move

Get DirectionsOur Evolt 360 body scanner price starts at $30 for a single scan. Multi-scan options offer better value if you want to compare results over time: $50 for 2 scans, or $70 for 3 scans.
About every 4 weeks in most cases. That’s enough time for real, meaningful change in your body fat and muscle to show up clearly in your report, rather than scanning so often you’re mostly picking up day-to-day hydration noise. We may recommend more or less often depending on your program and goals.
Wear light, comfortable clothing and avoid heavy jewellery where you can. Try to be well hydrated, but avoid a heavy meal, alcohol, or intense exercise right before your scan, since all three can throw off your reading. If it’s your first scan, allow 15 to 20 minutes so we can go through your history and goals properly; follow-up scans are much quicker.
No. DEXA uses a low-dose X-ray and is the clinical gold standard for measuring body composition and bone density. The Evolt 360 uses bioelectrical impedance instead, takes a fraction of the time, involves no radiation, and is built for regular, affordable tracking rather than one-off clinical precision.
Almost always hydration, not an actual setback in your progress. Total body water usually makes up 55 to 65 percent of your weight and should stay fairly stable, but because the scan measures electrical resistance, even a small shift in hydration, a hard training session, or a big meal beforehand can make your fat reading look higher and your muscle reading look lower than it really is. Keeping your prep consistent scan to scan is the best way to get a result you can trust.
Yes. It uses a very small, low-level electrical current that most people don’t even notice, with no radiation involved. BIA technology has been used safely in health and medical settings for decades.
No. You only need to remove your shoes and socks so your bare feet make contact with the scanner plates. Heavy items like belts or jackets are best removed too, for a slightly more accurate reading.
A scale gives you one number: total weight. It can’t tell you whether that weight is fat, muscle, water, or bone. The Evolt 360 breaks all of that apart, so you can see real progress even in weeks your weight on the scale barely moves.
Yes. Plenty of clients use it purely to track training, nutrition changes, or general health, with no treatment plan attached at all.
